“You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it takes people to make the dream a reality.”

                                                                                                                     Walt Disney

To design a family home, you have to get to know those who are going to live there. I have been uniquely fortunate to do this, and then to return again, and again. I have seen the  first steps, the secondary school uniforms, the college days, and recently the wedding: the tears and the laughter. So yes... the process, and relationship with the client is important.

Homes evolve, and so too should the design. The core ‘skin’ of the house should be timeless, with an opportunity to re-plan colours and finishes as time demands.

I love working with colour, but my policy is always - less is more. My approach is always based on allowing elements of colour to come from external sources also, such as the surroundings, the accessories and on occasion the toys.

I believe the key with colour is to have fun with it, and then to know when to stop.
