Design as if what you do makes a difference - it does.

Furniture, furnishings and accessories are the dressing. They are the unique tools we use to make us feel comfortable, calm, secure, and to allow the property to function beyond it’s architectural shell: the elements which animate the space. They are the fun, once all the practical elements of a space have been resolved.

I love to combine traditional and classic style elements with a shot of  the unpredictable. Ireland has a huge pool of talent in furniture manufacture and craftsmanship. I endeavour to utilise local manufacturers as much as I possibly can. We do also have ready access to a wealth of product from across Europe.

Good design does not need to stay within the constraints of a genre. I love nothing more than to combine a contemporary dining table with the luxury of a classic dining chair. It is important to know how to achieve this balance, but a good designer can do this on instinct. There are few things more satisfying during the design process than achieving this, whether it is with luxurious fabrics or the simple elegance of a unique furniture piece.
